• Answer out loud: Read the translation when you need it, then answer in the language you're practicing.
• Grow your answers: Keep your first answers short. As familiar words come more easily, add a reason, an example or a question of your own.

Choose an everyday topic such as food, hobbies or travel, and keep taking small turns. You can start practicing before you feel ready for a conversation entirely in another language.
